Layla, the new Mediterranean meets Middle Eastern restaurant in Berlin hosted by cosmopolitan chef Meir Adoni, stimulates all the senses. The food is seductive, the drinks are irresistible and the atmosphere is ecstatic.
Layla is meant to be a place where guests immediately feel at ease. The warm Israeli hospitality accompanied with cosmopolitan interior and eclectic music, enables guest to emerge into a captivating scenery.
Chef Meir Adoni, who was born in Israel and has Moroccan roots, chooses to reinvent traditional Middle Eastern cuisine and modify them, by adding flavors, ingredients and techniques from all over the world. By doing so, Meir combines the culinary worlds of the Mediterranean and the Middle East. His restaurants in Tel Aviv and New York are already well established and distinguished as the top places in the culinary scene.
Meir studied at some of the world’s finest institutions such as Le Cordon Bleu in Sydney, La Maison Lenôtre in Paris and Noma in Copenhagen.
All dishes served at Layla have a modern, bold and playful twist, offering a new interpretation of the Middle Eastern cuisine and mixing it up with European culinary styles.
The menu contains a wide selection of dishes – like Grilled Octopus, Eggplant Carpaccio and the famous Kubbana (a Yemen bread).
As a unique feature, Layla will serve new dishes designed especially for the Berliner taste palette.
The drinks menu consists of a well-selected choice of local spirits and organic wines. The wine list predominantly contains wines from Europe as well as the Middle East. Emanuele Broccatelli, a renowned Italian mixologist, is in charge of the drinks served at Layla. He is creating new concoctions complementing chef Meir Adoni’s food.
Layla Restaurant is open Tuesday – Sunday from 6:00 p.m. in the evening and is located next to Tempodrom at the corner of Hallesche Straße and Möckernstraße.
